Stuart Adams passing his Aikido 1st
Dan after training for at least 9 years was a great day for me, as well
as a fantastic achievement on his part, We have been friends for over 35
years, in fact on the 27th February 1972 we were both at the same Judo
grading in Walthamstow where Stuart received his Judo Brown Belt and I
received my Judo Green Belt. I am please to say though I managed to over
take him and obtained my Judo 1st Dan in 1975. |

 Stuart's ADS Aikido 1st Dan grading was completed 30 years and 1 day from the date that he was awarded his Judo 1st Dan as can be seen from the extract from his British Judo Association license displayed on the left. As you can guess Stuart is one of our more senior players and was therefore allowed to perform his grading over 2 two hour sessions, on the 16th and 23rd of February 2006, After the grading he pointed out that he would have preferred to do it all on one day, as he felt he had just performed twice as much as everyone else did in the past. As it happens that may have been true. It can never be said that a grading from Steve Billett and the ADS is easy! |
